Animals Helped

The Chester Foundation was originally created with the sole purpose of helping pets whose lives could be saved with access to financial assistance.  All too often, we see families faced with the difficult decision to say goodbye to their pet because of financial strain.  It is heart wrenching to see these families lose their best friend and family companion.

Fortunately, because of generous donors, lives are being saved.

Below are the animals served in 2019.

On May 7, the greater Sacramento Region will once again give generously to support nonprofits like the Chester Foundation who provide invaluable services to people and pets in need. Early donations are now being accepted at this link.

We’d like to introduce you to Taco, a 6-week old kitten who suffered a fractured pelvis and dislocated tail from an unknown trauma.  She was a stray and had no one to take care of her financially.  The Chester Foundation stepped in to help her because she most likely would have been euthanized at the shelter.  One of our board members worked with a surgeon at Atlantic Street Pet Emergency Center to arrange for Taco to have her tail amputated.  Since she was so young, her pelvis healed with cage rest and lots of love from her foster family.  A few months after being spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, she now has a forever loving home.

The Chester Foundation would truly not exist if it wasn’t for your support and others like you, who have the passion to help save animal lives and the bond they have with their humans!

To donate online, visit our DONATE page on this website, or give on May 7th through our Day of Giving page. Some donations will be matched so your dollars will go further!
