Betsy Graves Mahan is the owner of CapitolSocial Internet Marketing, a small family-run firm that specializes in communications and digital marketing for non-profits, small businesses and political groups.

Betsy has a love for all animals, and for many years has fostered dogs and cats from the Front Street Animal Shelter. She also volunteered for United Animal Nations (now Red Rover) in the early 1990’s when floods caused so many animals to be displaced. She lives in Wilton with her family and horses, dogs, cats, and some chickens.  Most of her animal companions are rescues, and she and her husband are the “go to” couple in her community when a lost dog is seen running down the country roads in Wilton.

“I was attracted to the work of the Chester Foundation because they recognize that an animal suffers if their owners are unable to cover emergency medical costs.  I also realize that the connection between an animal and their humans can be very strong – they are all part of the family.  In a home fire or car accident, keeping the entire family safe is more important than protecting a car or house that can be replaced.

With the Chester Foundation, it’s all about the animals and the humans who love them – and I have deep respect for that approach.”
