The Facebook Community has once again rallied to help an animal in need!
The post from the Atlantic Street Veterinary Hospital about the lab mix named “Coco” has been seen by thousands!
Coco was hit by a car and suffers a severely broken front leg. Her owner surrendered the dog and Animal Control brought her to Atlantic Street Pet Emergency Center in Roseville to see if she could be saved. Without an owner to cover the cost of her needed medical care, Atlantic Street took custody of Coco and the Chester Foundation was called in to help fund her medical evaluation and initial procedures.
That’s how it works!! People working together to help an animal companion in need.
Coco is very special. She’s well-mannered, a sweetheart, and good-looking too!
We have already been contacted by a family that is interested in adopting her and helping with the costs of her surgery. (see update below)
Costs could start at $4,000 with more expenses after her surgery, so the Chester Foundation has set up a special fund – just for Coco – to defray the costs and make sure she gets everything she needs.
All donations to the Chester Foundation that come in over the next seven days (June 16 – 22) will go to Coco’s Fund.
Please donate to help Coco and her (hopefully) new family!
Chester Foundation is a 501c3 tax exempt organization – ID#27-2042948.
Thanks to all of you who support the Chester Foundation throughout the year. Because of your continued support we are able to be ready when an emergency presents itself so we can jump into action.
We’ll keep you posted on Coco and other animals in need around the Sacramento region. Be sure to LIKE our Facebook page and follow her story.
It’s official! Coco will be adopted and her surgery was a success thanks to Dr. Walsh DVM, ACVS with NorCal, pictured here with her. Fundraising through Chester is ongoing to help cover her medical costs. Many thanks to the donors who have given to date. The fundraising will continue through June 22nd!
