Boots is a sweet male domestic shorthair who was dropped off by a Good Samaritan. Boots had a significant injury to the right front leg, and initially, it was assumed that his leg was broken.
On exam he was painful and weak. His right front leg had a laceration extending all the way from above the elbow to the carpus or “wrist”. His skin was flapped open and the wound was dirty. He did not want to use the leg at all. However, we could not find any obvious broken bones.
Due to the Chester Fund, Boots was treated with pain medication and antibiotics, and his wound was surgically repaired. He has healed remarkably well and is able to use his right front leg well. Best of all, he found a loving permanent home!
