Meet Charms

Charms, a 3 month old chihuahua needed emergency care for hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).  This is a condition often seen in toy breeds at a young age.  If not treated quickly these puppies will begin have seizures resulting in

the need for more critical care and sometimes death.  Charms was found by the client nonresponsive and based on the history and physical exam, it was likely she had seizured at home.  She was close to death upon presentation.  Due to limited income, Charms’owner was being faced with not being unable to provide the life saving treatment that was needed.  Through a grant from The Chester Foundation, Charms was able to get medical treatment and returned home the next morning!
